Around early December as the weather turned blisteringly cold, I was elated to get a message from Jill & Ed, a pair of pawsitively awesome pet-parents. I first met them 5 years or so ago, when I had the honor of photographing their sweet senior kitties. They were so much fun to work with the first time, I was thrilled when Jill invited me to come meet the new generation of adorable love-muffins; Biscuit & Daisy.
As soon as I walked in the door and pulled off my snow-covered boots, Biscuit was already investigating my interesting assortment of bags & equipment. Without much hesitation he was ready to put on a playful showing for the camera.
Daisy wasn't immediately as excited about this new person crawling around on the floor with a big clicky box. Though I know enough about cats to know that if you have one of them interested, the other will inevitably wonder what they're missing out on. It didn't take long for Daisy's curiosity to get the best of her. She couldn't help but find out exactly what Biscuit found so curious about this odd person in their home. Well, that and the allure of her favorite toy, the feather wand! It really does have magical powers of drawing kitties in.
These two lucky kitties had a rough start to life. Though only they know just exactly what it was. Both from rescues, Jill is a strong believer in adoption as there are so many kittens like Biscuit & Daisy needing homes. They no longer have to worry about anything more than enjoying the warm sun from their favorite perches. Finding new places to hide and tackling their favorite toys.
In fact, Biscuit is occasionally a bit of a Tasmanian devil, running full speed through the house in pursuit of his favorite glitter ball or laser light. Or finding new places to hide so he can spring out and surprise his mom.
Though he's known for eating both live and fake plants, and occasionally knocking things over in his pursuit of fun. Mr. Biscuit also has plenty of snuggles to give once he slows down.
I mean really, what more could a kitty ever hope for than a home furnished with the best kitty towers and sun-basking baskets, an endless supply of places to hide and toys to chase, and of course, most important of all, pet parents who absolutely adore them! From an uncertain future to the good life; these kittens must have some great karma!
