Dog House Rules for a Safe Holiday Celebration
Thanksgiving is a fantastic time for friends and family to gather together and enjoy each other. It can also mean you have lot's of people moving around who may not know the house rules for your pet.
Before I was a photographer I worked in an animal ER and the holidays were always the busiest time of year. Largely due to people just not knowing the house rules.
- Is the dog allowed to have people food? (digestive issues)
- Are pets allowed on the furniture? (ruined furniture?)
- Who let the dog out? (lost dog?)
Even a minor trip to the vet during the holidays is likely to take hours, and completely ruin the festivities. Not to mention create conflict among friends and family. It's not uncommon for different generations even within the same family to have varied perspectives of what's safe and acceptable. So to avoid family tension and a trip to the ER I created the Dog House rules.
Just print and customize to your house rules and post or share where your guests can see it. Then your guests know whether it's ok to give in to those puppy dog eyes and share a little turkey...or not.
This holidays should be fun & safe for everyone involved!
