When it comes to finding the perfect location for your pet (or family) photoshoot, Corbin Park in Post Falls is hands down one of my favorite spots to recommend. Tucked along the Spokane River, this park is a hidden gem with so much variety and natural beauty, it’s hard to believe it’s just a few minutes from the parking lot!
Whether you're looking for playful action shots, serene portraits, or a mix of both, Corbin Park offers it all – plus, your dog is going to love it just as much as you do.
TLDR:
Pros:
- Varied terrain makes for some really beautiful photo ops.
- Close parking & flat areas make this a great spot for pets or their people who have mobility concerns.
- Easy access from the highway & large parking areas make getting there a breeze.
- View of the river & photographs like you're much more remote than you are.
Cons:
- It's largely a disc golf course, so finding space where you wont be in the way or get hit by a disc can be tricky.
- Very busy on the weekends.
- Can be a high-distraction location
Wide Open Grassy Fields for Fun Action Shots
If your dog loves to run, we’ll start the session in Corbin Park’s wide-open grassy field. It’s perfect for those playful, action-packed shots of your dog mid-jump, chasing a ball, or just enjoying the freedom of open space. The expansive area also allows for beautiful family portraits with plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax, while we capture those natural, candid moments. I love this spot for getting those fun, high-energy photos!
Riverside Fun for Water-Loving Dogs
For the pups that are all about the water, Corbin Park’s beachfront along the Spokane River is perfect. Imagine capturing your dog as they splash through the water or paddle happily along the shoreline – it’s pure joy in every shot! Even if your dog’s not a swimmer, the riverbank offers a peaceful and scenic backdrop for those more relaxed, portrait-style photos. The gentle flow of the river adds a serene vibe to the session that’s truly magical.
Stunning Rock Formations for Unique Portraits
Corbin Park’s natural rock formations are another highlight and one of my personal favorite features of the park. These rugged boulders provide a unique setting for more creative shots, whether it's your pup perched on a rock like an adventurous explorer or your family gathered together for a cozy group portrait. The contrast of the rock against the lush greenery makes for beautifully artistic photos that really stand out.
Enchanting Forest Backdrops
For something a little more intimate and woodsy, Corbin Park has a lovely forested area that’s perfect for capturing quiet, tender moments. The tall trees, soft lighting, and dappled sunlight create a magical atmosphere that’s perfect for timeless portraits. Whether your dog’s calmly sitting by your side or exploring the forest floor, the photos we capture here will feel straight out of a fairytale.
Easy Accessibility for All
One of the best things about Corbin Park is how easy it is to access all of these incredible locations. Everything – from the open fields to the riverbank and forest – is just a short walk from the parking lot. This makes it perfect for dogs (and people!) of all ages and energy levels. Whether you’re bringing a high-energy puppy or an older dog, we won’t have to go far to get a wide variety of beautiful backdrops for your session.
The Downside
Corbin Park is a favorite for many locals, especially during the warmer months. It’s a popular spot for families & dogs cooling off and disc golfers, so it can get a little busy at peak times. To ensure a relaxed and uninterrupted session, I recommend we plan your shoot for a weekday or the cooler season when the park is less likely to be busy.
Corbin Park offers such a rich variety of settings that it’s the perfect spot for capturing all the different sides of your pet’s personality – whether they’re playful and energetic, or calm and contemplative. From the wide-open fields and scenic riverfront to the natural rock formations and peaceful forest, every part of the park provides a new opportunity to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind photos.
Let’s make some memories together at Corbin Park! I can’t wait to capture your pet’s spirit in this incredible location.
