Pet Friendly Events-2024
When I first arrived in Coeur d'Alene, I was utterly captivated. The pristine waters, the endless green vistas— it felt like stepping into a dream. Exhausted by the hustle and bustle of Denver, my family and I sought a quieter, more serene environment, reminiscent of the beautiful dog-friendly landscapes we cherished in the Colorado Front Range.
Yet, as we explored the area around Lake Coeur d'Alene, I couldn't help but notice the ubiquitous "no dogs in parks" signs. As a devoted dog mom, it was disheartening. We had envisioned this place as our own personal Eden, only to be met with this unexpected setback. Where were we supposed to take our furry companions? How could I deny Freki the simple joy of rolling in the grass?
Given my involvement in the dog-centric industry and my penchant for sharing adventures with my pups, a community's attitude toward dogs weighed heavily on our decision to settle there. I hesitated, but then I delved into research. And what I discovered was reassuring: while Coeur d'Alene's parks might be off-limits for our four-legged friends, there are still countless dog-friendly activities waiting to be explored, if you know where to look!
So, here's what I've found so far!
I've got it on good authority these events are dog friendly, but I haven't attended most of them myself, yet. So it's always a good idea to confirm any details with event coordinators, I'll link each event flyer to their website or Facebook page. If you've been to any of these events, please share your experience as far as dog-friendliness (please be kind & respectful) And if you know of some dog friendly events I haven't found yet, please share 'em in the comments!
And these are just the "events" I've found. Turns out there are a whole lot of dog-friendly businesses around town too! More on that later...
Events are listed as a courtesy and information is pulled from event hosts website, be sure to check there for any details before attending.
