What Makes Farragut State Park a picture perfect location?
A Beautiful Blend of Forest & Water Views
Farragut’s landscape is wonderfully diverse, offering both woodsy, nature-filled backdrops and expansive views of the bay. We can take cozy, intimate portraits along the winding trails or opt for wide, cinematic shots with the lake and mountains in the distance. No matter the season, this park provides a variety of stunning settings in one location.
Easy Accessibility for All
One of the biggest advantages of Farragut is its accessibility. Unlike some remote nature spots, this park has paved roads and well-maintained trails, making it ideal for:
- Senior dogs or pets with mobility issues
- Families who want an easy walk to scenic areas
A Great Balance of Space & Seclusion
Some dogs thrive in busy environments, while others do better in quieter, low-distraction areas. The great thing about Farragut is that it has both open, social areas and secluded spots where your dog can relax without too much excitement. If your pet is more energetic, we can find open spaces for action shots. If they’re a little nervous or shy, we can stick to quieter trails where they feel at ease.
Seasonal Beauty All Year Round
Each season at Farragut brings something magical and unique to your session:
- Spring & Summer: Lush green forests, wildflowers, and bright blue lake views.
- Fall: Warm golden tones, crisp air, and stunning autumn foliage make this area breathtaking.
- Winter: Snow-covered landscapes and peaceful, misty mornings over the lake.
No matter when you schedule your session, this park always provides a stunning natural setting for pet photography.
A few things to keep in mind
- Leash Laws
-
In order to protect wildlife from your pups and your pup from wildlife, leash laws are enforced. Not to worry though, a little photoshop magic and you'd never know the difference.
- Entry Fees
-
In order to be in the park you must either have an Idaho State Parks pass displayed on your window, for every car. Or you must purchase a day pass at the ranger station.
- Respect Park Guidelines
-
You'd be surprised how many public spaces don't allow professional photography, or crack down with time-consuming & expensive permitting. In order to ensure that we can continue to photograph in this amazing space we always want to respect other park guests and be mindful of the rules.
- Park Popularity
-
Due to the general popularity of the park, during peak tourist season it's ideal to plan for weekday sessions.
