Happy Travels

by Kris Phillips

Any day now the roads will start filling up with millions of families trekking cross-country to be together for Thanksgiving. And a few who take the four-day weekend as a well earned vacation. Whatever your reason for travelling if you plan to take your dogs with you make sure you bring all the essentials. Here’s my handy list of travel necessities.

-Food of course, enough for one extra day just in case. Don’t forget the scoop.

-Any medication. Make sure you have enough to cover the whole trip.

-Bowls for food & water

-Toys for chewing, including one that DOESN’T squeak.

-Natures Miracle & a couple old towels, just in case travel causes upset tummies.

–I also bring chewable Pepto for this.

-And a bottle of water for the drive.

Bonus item: if you have a puppy or a nervous dog consider a travel kennel. They collapse flat when not in use and are easy to tuck in the trunk, but give your dog a safe space in unfamiliar territory.

Happy Travels!
