BFFS- Best Friends Furever

by Kris Phillips

How Lauren & Sasha became friends can only be called the stars aligning. Sasha & her husband were looking for a room mate to help ease the burden of living in a great neighborhood in Denver. But they were struggling to find someone who was ok with their two big fluffballs. Hard to imagine anyone NOT wanting to hang out with Jubilee & Comrade?! In the meantime Lauren & her hubby were looking to rent space while they got settled into town. Not feeling settled enough to have their own dogs, they were elated to find a place fully furnished, dogs and all!

The couples have since moved into their own spaces but their friendship remains! And it was Lauren who talked Sasha into joining the Yoga Dog Project. They were also my first paired yogis on the project. And the results were beautiful!

But I know you really want to know more about Jubilee & Comrade.

Sweet & sensitive Jubilee was the first to join the family. She was living in Georgia where the heat made her miserable. But she lucked out when her owner was deployed and Sasha took her in. They’ve been in love ever since. Jubilee enjoyed some time as a solo dog, having the run of the house and all the toys to herself. The Comrade joined the family and she had to learn to share, sorta. Ok, so she mostly shares his toys! Her toys are still hers. Jubilee is a sensitive girl, who cuddles close to Mom whenever she senses a bad day.

Comrade is a classic husky. While he’s not technically allowed on the furniture, he’ll lay across Mom looking as cute as possible until she caves. And if ever caught being sneaky, he tries to just play it off like nothing happened. Once after Mom & Dad slaved away to make sourdough bread FROM SCRATCH they had barely enjoyed a single slice when the realized their velcro dogs had both gone missing from the room. As they went in search, they found Comrade with a whole loaf in his mouth staring at them like nothing was happening. He then dropped the loaf in his bowl and proceeded to eat his dinner with a side of sourdough. Like, that’s just how he always eats dinner.
